Genuine question I'm gonna put out here:
I know shopping from Temu or Shein is bad, it's fast fashion, the clothes come from workers who are probably kids or not getting paid, their shit ends in landfills, it's all very obvious, right?
Okay, but what is the alternative? If you are broke as hell and need or want clothes, what do you do? I know shopping locally or supporting small businesses are good but you have to admit how out of range they are for a lot of people on or under the poverty line, at least most of them that I can find. Especially if you need a lot of clothes quickly (like if you've outgrown your old ones and have absolutely nothing to wear). Thrifting is also slowly becoming out of the question it seems? It can be cheap but if you live somewhere where the only "thrifting" place is Goodwill, which is jacking the prices every day, it also doesn't seem like a good option.
So what do you do? Does anyone know or have advice or anything at all?
